As artist, we should try to work smarter, not harder for the integrity of the skin.
Did you know that you can do pointillism with a one round liner or even an eight round shader?
If you do pointillism with the 1 round liner, you’ll be placing one of dot pigment into the skin. If you use an 8 round shader at 90°, you’ll be placing eight dots of pigment into the skin.
Expert tip:
If you use your 8 round shader at an 45-60 degree angle, then you will only be using a few of the needles at a time, placing less dots of pigment in the skin.
