Here’s exactly what you can expect during your appointment—because knowing what’s ahead can help calm those pre-appointment jitters!
Welcome to the Studio
When you arrive at our studio, you’ll be greeted by our lovely receptionist. She’ll help you get settled on our cozy black velvet couch, where you can relax with a cup of coffee, tea, or water. This is your time to unwind before we dive into the details. While you sip on your drink, you’ll be given some paperwork to fill out.
Now, I know paperwork isn’t anyone’s favorite part, but it’s super important! Our receptionist will walk you through each form, explaining why it’s important to read everything carefully. These forms cover what you can expect from your permanent makeup procedure, and they give us all the info we need to make sure we’re giving you the best possible experience.
Meeting Your Artist
Once your paperwork is done and you’re feeling comfy, your permanent makeup artist will come out to greet you. This is your chance to ask any last-minute questions before we get started! We know this is an exciting (and sometimes nerve-wracking) moment, so we’re here to answer everything—big or small.
Next, you’ll head into the artist’s room for your consultation. This is where the real magic begins. Together, you’ll go over your consultation form, where you’ll share what look you’re aiming to achieve. Whether you’re getting eyeliner, eyebrows, or lip blush, your artist will jot down notes and make sure you’re both on the same page about your goals. You’ll both review the plan one more time and sign off to make sure everything is crystal clear before we start.
Numbing and Prepping
Once the consultation is done, it’s time to start the process. First, you’ll be numbed up. Numbing can take anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the procedure. So you can just sit back and relax while the numbing cream works its magic. It’s a great time to take a deep breath and feel excited for the gorgeous results coming your way.
Next, your artist will draw the shape of your brows, eyeliner, or lips, depending on what you’re getting done. This step is key because we want you to be 100% happy with the shape before moving forward. We won’t start tattooing until you’re completely in love with the design. Once the design is drawn on, we tattoo directly on top of it!
Choosing Your Color
Once the shape is perfect, it’s time to talk color! Whether you’re going for a soft, natural look or something more defined, we’ll help you pick a shade that complements your skin tone and desired outcome. This is all about making sure your permanent makeup looks just right for you. Color can be tricky so we recommend bringing in a few shades you like. This will help the artist create a customized color best for you and your skin undertones.
Let the Tattooing Begin
After you and your artist are totally aligned on the shape and color, the tattooing begins! Depending on the area you’re having done, the procedure can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. It might sound long, but trust me, it’ll be worth it. You’ll be able to relax while your artist works, and if you need a break at any point, just let us know!
Worried about pain? Don't be! We use a secondary numbing throughout the entire procedure to keep you comfortable.
Aftercare and Checkout
Once your procedure is finished, your artist will go over all the aftercare instructions with you. You’ll also receive an aftercare kit that includes everything you need to keep your new permanent makeup looking fresh as it heals. Inside the kit, you’ll find a detailed sheet explaining the healing process so you’ll know what to expect every step of the way.
Before you leave, our receptionist will check you out, and just like that—you’re all set! Now it’s time to head home, relax, and let the healing begin. And don’t worry, we’re always here if you have any questions after your appointment.
